She has French German, Irish, as well as Scottish ancestry. She's French Scottish, Irish and German descent. Her father John Martin Magenau Jr. was CEO and President of the Jackson Koehler Eagle Brewery in Erie Pennsylvania which had been established in 1847. The brewery closed in 1978. Jacobs began studying acting at age of eight and was a student at the Saturday class of Pittsburgh Playhouse. Mt. Jacobs completed her studies at Lebanon High School in New York in 2000. After that, she relocated to New York City to study at Juilliard School. Juilliard School. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in the year 2004.
